David Benhoff Lt. Col/USMC (Retired)

David Benhoff is a retired Marine Corps officer with over 25 years of extensive service, including three combat tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Panama.

He has a B.A. in history from Virginia Military Institute, a M.Ed. from Lynchburg College, and has published two books: Afghanistan: Alone and Unafraid and Among the People: US Marines in Iraq.

After retiring from the military in 2012, like so many other veterans it was time for him to discover his new life’s mission. Fate intervened and David found himself helping a Korean War veteran who was having difficulty navigating the VA system, managing his health care and some basic life needs. David read a job posting with a position dedicated to performing the same things for other aging veterans.

Through his personal and professional experience David was compelled to assist aging veterans who fought for our country and now need advocates themselves. This passion is what inspired him to participate and collaborate in the non-profit sector, focusing his experience, time, and resources on assisting fellow veterans and their families in the most difficult of circumstances. For the past 15+ years he has been instrumental in identifying and developing core programs to assist veterans. His insight into the unique needs of our heroes is what compels everyone involved in our organization.

David’s mission to provide aging veterans companionship, resources, and assistance with a variety of needs has integrated itself into every facet of his personal will to assist others.

Kim Pagano, Advocate

Hi, I’m Kim! I am a wife and mother of 3 children, including a sweet little boy diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder- a condition that once made daily life a real struggle for him and our family.

My son’s medical issues started when he was 3 months old and eventually led to an autism diagnosis, coupled with a laundry list of comorbid conditions and severe developmental delays.

Our experience with autism has been presented with a myriad of both challenges and awakenings to say the least. From sleepless nights to intuition-based decisions, our family has had to navigate and find understanding within this complex and often misunderstood diagnosis.

With the assistance of Dr. Antoine Chevalier our family has completely transformed the way we approach autism. After working with Dr. Chevalier, both our son and family have been set free from the impacts that autism was having on daily living and our family’s quality of life.

It is my mission to share our story, spread real hope, and assist to give freedom to the millions of other families impacted by autism. I am a patriot who wants nothing more than to help create a better future for our children and to assist in building strong families that will make this a reality.
